At the December 1st, 2023 District Leadership Team meeting members and guests wrote a short sentence about what being on the team meant to them. We entered all the responses into ChatGPT and asked it to turn our thoughts into a poem. Below is what we received.

In the heart of the city, where dreams find their place,

District 26 thrives with a unique embrace.

Leadership team, a beacon shining bright,

Guiding with purpose, in day and night.

"Honored to be," echoes a voice so clear,

In the highest performing district, joy and cheer.

Caring souls unite, a community strong,

Empowered, valued, where all belong.

DLT, an example, empowered and bright,

Enlightened minds, engaging with light.

Impactful values woven in every thread,

A tapestry of unity, where dreams are bred.

"D26 DLT, an awesome endeavor,

Empowerment, enlightenment, engagement forever.

Values that resonate, impactful and true,

A testament to the work that we do."

Talking to members, voices so diverse,

A chorus of unity, in every verse.

Collaboration and teamwork in the air,

A dance of ideas, beyond compare.

"Putting needs of students first," they proclaim,

In the tapestry of love, a powerful frame.

Blessed and grateful, hearts full of grace,

DLT stands strong, a harmonious embrace.

Learning echoes through corridors wide,

K-8 strategies, a knowledgeable tide.

Representing colleagues, supporting with pride,

In District 26, dreams coincide.

A privilege to cherish, a joy to savor,

Being part of DLT, a moment to savor.

Thankful for diversity, perspectives untold,

In this district of dreams, a story unfolds.

So let this poem be a tribute, a song,

To District 26, where hearts belong.

In the tapestry of unity, woven with care,

DLT stands strong, a treasure rare.

DISTRICT 26 TECHNOLOGY VISION AND BENCHMARKS

In the Spring of 2016, our District Leadership Team worked in collaboration with district technology teachers, the Queens North Field Support Center, and Jason Levy from the Division of Instruction and Information Technology to create our vision for technology in District 26, as well as how we are working to embed computer science skills across all disciplines as we work to meet the Mayoral "Equity and Excellence" initiative of providing Computer Science 4 All. District teachers are supported during our year long professional learning series.

ALL COMPREHENSIVE EDUCATION PLANS (CEPS) ARE NOW WRITTEN, UPDATED, AND AVAILABLE IN THE IPLAN PORTAL.

Community School District 26 is committed to providing all children with an environment that fosters excellence in education and active participation in a 21st century global community.  A strong work ethic, perseverance and team work accompanied by interpersonal relationship skills will be encouraged.  In partnership with families, staff members and community, District 26 is dedicated to instilling the highest standards of critical thinking and inspiring children to explore, achieve and excel.
