Incident or Bullying Reporting
All schools should be safe, respectful and inclusive learning environments that support students’ well-being, academic achievement and social growth. However, if you feel your child has experienced sexual harassment, discrimination, harassment, intimidation, or bullying, then you can report it using one of these ways:
Report the incident to a staff member at your school (principal, assistant principal, teacher, guidance counselor, etc.)
Report the incident to your school using a complaint form (available at https://cdn-blob-prd.azureedge.net/prd-pws/docs/default-source/default-document-library/a-832-reporting-form.pdf?sfvrsn=43ca4491_6)
Report the incident online at: https://www.nycenet.edu/bullyingreporting
Call 718-935-2288
Email the Office of Safety and Youth Development (OSYD) at RespectforAll@schools.nyc.gov
Schools are required to report such complaints in their Online Occurrence Reporting System (OORS). You can ask the school administration for the incident number for follow up. The school will conduct an investigation and will inform you of the outcome of the investigation. If the investigation finds that a student—or students—have been bullying or harassing your child, the school will follow the process described in the Discipline Code (also known as the Citywide Behavioral Expectations to Support Student Learning) and Chancellor’s Regulations A-831 or A-832 (which can be found below).
